Game Cancellation Procedures

Valley League

  1. Use the VHL website to inform the league of any game that is postponed and
  2. The head coach must call or email the opposing coach to inform him of any plan to postpone (opposing coach contact information is available on the VHL website);
  3. Both teams must fill out the VHL online cancellation form
  4. Obtain ice from WYH to reschedule the game
  5. Confirm rescheduled game with opposing coach
  6. Contact VHL to arrange for referees for the rescheduled game. For refs, reach out to Dan O’Connell (officials@valley-associates.com)
  7. Bring to the rescheduled game a WYH check to pay the referees
  8. Print out a make-up game sheet (scoresheet) from the VHL website
  9. Provide a scorekeeper (usually a WYH parent) for the rescheduled game
  10. Fill out the make-up game sheet (scoresheet) with the original game information by the date, time, rink, and Game # which can be found on the VHL website; and
  11. The winning team of make-up game is responsible to mail (e-mail scanned copy) the scoresheet to VHL.

MYCGL

  1. Teams/Programs needing to request a change in the schedule must do so two weeks prior to the scheduled game. 
  2. Every effort will be made to accommodate a game switch, but if it is not possible because other teams are unavailable,
  3. The team requesting the change must either play or make up the game.  
  4. Canceling team will have 30-days to provide a sheet of ice, two referees and one timekeeper for a makeup game at their home rink.  
  5. If the non-canceling team refuses a makeup date, only one more offer of makeup ice is required from the canceling team. 
  6. If the second offer is refused, the non-canceling team forfeits the game. 
  7. To Cancel a game,
  8. Reach out to the opposing coach. Contacts are available on the MYCGL web site (https://www.mycgl.com/)
  9. Use the game cancellation form under coaches' corner to notify the league
